The pre-kindergarten “Pre-K” classroom supports children to learn and develop at their own pace. Pre-K at Sammamish Children’s School enables your child to work individually and/or in groups. There is emphasis on encouraging the pursuit of unique interests, developing independence, creativity, healthy self-esteem, and cooperation. Involvement in the Pre-K classroom is fun and interactive.
Your child has unique interest/s and abilities that may determine the best school for growth. The environment of Sammamish Children’s School instills love for learning, whether that is independent study, growing socially in preparation for kindergarten, or a bit of both.
The Pre-K classroom is a discovery-based environment where children learn during the dynamic activities of the school day. Its hands-on approach supports each child’s unique style, allowing them to explore their pace, interests, and to develop critical thinking.
The Sammamish Children’s School Pre-K classroom encourages both individual and group activities so that your child can pursue an appropriate path and the skillset required for it.
Sammamish Children’s School views learning as fun, where creating the atmosphere of transition will prepare pupils for kindergarten is the central focus. We encourage activity, cooperation and creativity during participation. Through this engagement, learning is an exciting experience.
The curriculum of the Pre-K program holistically originates from science, literacy, math and creative arts, with special focus on problem-solving and critical thinking. Students grow in these areas as we encourage a well-rounded educational foundation.
We encourage your child to explore, think, predict and discover the world by asking questions and partaking in hands-on learning opportunities. Our science-based approaches help students develop their curiosity.
Your child will build literacy using activities such as phonemics, pre-reading, and individualized handwriting instruction. The activities are the basis for strong reading and writing skills.
Through engagement, the promotion of critical thinking, and problem-solving techniques, students can engage with math in fun and to develop a likeness for numbers.
Our program includes art projects, music, and cooking so that students explore creativity, talent, and can express themselves appropriately.
We’ll build on the foundation of our Preschool program, focus on high-level thinking, Kindergarten school readiness, and individualized learning.
High-level thinking is used to solve problems, think critically, and improve cognition. These skills are at the core of Pre-K as we prepare students for ongoing education and challenges.
